Areas We Cover

A’reet! North East England is known as one of the official regions of England, and covers County Durham, Tyne and Wear and Northumberland, and here at Hog Roast Newcastle we’ll travel to every square inch of it! Often overlooked by tourists and natives, the North East region has gone through immense change and regeneration throughout the years. To those that know the North East know of some of the well-kept secrets that need to finally be told to the rest of the UK, like the beautiful Angel of the North statue which was decreed an official English Icon in 2016, St James Park (home of Newcastle United) is one of the oldest football stadiums in the UK, and at 73 miles long, Hadrian’s Wall is one of the largest Roman artefacts still standing to this day!

We also produce some of the more interesting foods of the UK, such as the Parmo, created in the wonderful city of Middlesbrough, the Parmo is deep fried chicken or pork covered in breadcrumbs and white béchamel sauce and cheese (great for cheat days!).  During difficult times food was scarce and so Corned Beef Patties came into existence, these beauties consist of corned beef, mashed potatoes and onions – all squashed into patties and fried until brown, and for dessert our Newcastle pudding which is made using the remnants of a jar of lemon curd, bread, butter, eggs and milk then steamed… great with a cup of tea!

There must be something in the water here in the North East as we have many celebrities born and raised here, such as the legendary TV actor, movie actor and comedian Rowan Atkinson, one the most famous TV presenter duos Ant & Dec and how could we forget the whole cast of the Geordie Shore! Tyneside and Newcastle’s native inhabitants are also known as Geordies, no one fully knows where the slang word comes from as there have been several stories throughout history. Geordies have one of the most distinctive accents and say phrases such as ‘scran’ (food), ‘haway man!’ (come on!) and how I first started this page and how all of our Hog Roast Newcastle staff will greet you, a’reet (hello)!

Here at Hog Roast Newcastle we’ll happily travel to each and every town listed below. Even if your event happens to be in the centre of the Town Moor Park, which is the largest park in England – 1000 acres making it larger than New York City’s Central Park! Just give us a call and we will do our best to make sure we can get our delicious food to your location, we’ll even travel on the world’s first railway also known as the Darlington and Stockton line!

Tara hinney fo’ neeo!
