Enjoying a meal as a community is perfect for bringing people together and creating new friendships. With the summer still underway, a community centre in the North East contacted Hog Roast Belsay to arrange catering for their final outdoor meal of the season. Throughout the summer, the centre hosts a variety of different events to make the most of the summer, including movie screenings, sports games, fairs, and parties. For the final event, our catering manager Jarrod was hired to provide our Gourmet BBQ menu for the occasion, since it includes a good variety of dishes and is sure to have something for all 120 guests to enjoy.
When the day of the event arrived, the Hog Roast Belsay team got to work on preparing our menu on-site. We set up our station on the neighbouring sports field, giving us plenty of space to cook and serve our menu. The main dishes included delicious juicy British beef burgers, succulent pork sausages, veggie sausages, halloumi and vegetable skewers, marinated chicken kebabs, and BBQ spareribs. These dishes were served in fresh bread rolls, with gluten-free rolls also on offer. For the side dishes, the guests enjoyed homemade chips, sweet potato fries, gourmet coleslaw, a selection of seasonal salad dishes, and corn cobettes. Overall, this created a delicious and varied menu, with plenty of options for the guests to enjoy. Our catering was a great addition to the event and definitely helped to create a bigger turnout for the event since everyone was looking forward to enjoying a BBQ in the sunshine!
