There’s more to Christmas than just Christmas Day! Don’t get us wrong, we love Xmas Day and look forward to it every year with excitement and anticipation. But there’s also something to be said for the build-up to the most magical day on the yearly calendar, don’t you think?
From popping a cheeky choccy before work each morning because the advent calendar says it’s okay and decorating every inch of the house with tinsel and baubles to meeting up with loved ones for pre-Christmas drinks and exchanging gifts, there’s so much to look forward to – and that’s not even the half of it! As far as events go, there’s always something going on in the weeks leading up to Xmas, whether it be dinner plans with the family, the annual office night out or a trip to the local winter market.
Yes, the entire month of December is a very busy and exciting time of year for us all – we only wish it could last longer! No matter, Hog Roast Firthmoor has been making the most of the time we have to celebrate the countdown to Christmas by helping as many people as we possibly can with their events and celebrations.
Speaking of winter markets, Hog Roast Firthmoor very recently found ourselves lending a hand at an outdoor Christmas market, which saw us cater for hundreds of people throughout the day!
Our team, led by catering manager Jarrod, delighted the punters with our sensational Festive Menu, which incorporated our fork-tender pulled-pork, sage and onion stuffing, crackling and applesauce rolls with seasonal sides of pigs in blankets, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and glazed seasonal vegetables topped off with a drizzle of our delicious homemade gravy.
The guests, who had been instantly drawn to our stall by the gorgeous aromas, were completely enthralled by our team’s culinary creations, which prompted some to ask for cooking tips and advice. For Hog Roast Firthmoor, it’s always an honour when people enjoy our food so much that they ask how to recreate it themselves, and Jarrod was more than happy to impart some of his wisdom.
It was a fantastic day all round, and Hog Roast Firthmoor is already looking forward to our next Christmas market!
