In celebration of Lily’s 18th birthday, her mum and dad, Sheila and David, had organised a huge family party to take place at their converted farmhouse in the countryside.
Because you only turn 18 once, Sheila and David had pulled out all the stops to make the day as spectacular as possible, and with plenty of space to work with, they had no trouble transforming their family home into a party paradise!
The decorations the pair picked for the occasion ranged from classic birthday balloons and streamers to elaborate archways, which made for the perfect photo backdrops. They also rented a photo booth, popcorn and candyfloss carts and a DJ to perform on the night.
As for the food (a.k.a. the most important part of any celebration!), the couple had asked Hog Roast Hebburn to serve something scrumptious – and boy, did we deliver!
Led by catering manager Jarrod, Hog Roast Hebburn arrived at the client’s home several hours before the party kicked off. Without missing a beat, they unloaded the catering van and set to work on erecting the gazebo and setting up the serving tables and cooking equipment before launching themselves into food prep.
Over the next few hours, Hog Roast Hebburn worked tirelessly to prepare a stunning selection of dishes, which comprised of Cajun spiced whole roast chickens, fall-off-the-bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs, Texan 24-hour beef brisket and BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls with vegan coleslaw.
Of course, our famous Southern Slow Roast Menu wouldn’t be complete without some lip-smacking sides, so Jarrod and the team whipped up some buttery corn cobbettes, an indulgent potato salad and a mixture of sweet potato and regular fries.
Once ready, the hot food was moved into chafing dishes to keep warm, while the chilled options and rolls were presented in bamboo bowls and baskets on the main serving table.
Before anyone knew it, the client’s home was abuzz with chatter and laughter from the guests, who, after adding a gift to Lily’s present pile, made a b-line for the food. Hog Roast Hebburn managed to serve everyone promptly, which allowed them to get back to enjoying the lively atmosphere of Lily’s party in no time.
Everyone had a brilliant time, especially the birthday girl, and the food was definitely a highlight of the night!
