Huw and Lauren had always planned to host a summer wedding, and they were very keen on choosing a theme that represented themselves as a couple. After planning during lockdown, they chose to go for a rustic and boho theme, with catering to suit. The couple contacted our catering manager Roy and enquired about our trending summer menus. Roy suggested our alfresco menu since it is ideal for a summer wedding and is a great fit for a rustic reception.
On the day of the wedding, Hog Roast Falstone arrived early at the venue to prepare catering for the evening. We began by preparing the starter, which is the star of our alfresco menu. The starter consists of sharing platters served tableside, with gourmet cheese, sliced meats, fresh breads, and vegetables. This is a great way to experience a selection of tastes and flavours in one meal.
Following the starter, we served a classic Hog Roast Falstone main course: a slow-roasted hog. The meat was served with a selection of sides, including sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, and homemade applesauce, as well as fresh vegetables and roasted potatoes.
To finish the catering, the guests enjoyed a choice of dessert, including profiteroles and cheesecake. The desserts were served with fresh fruit and English cream, followed by a toast to the happy couple.
