A Busy Weekend.

A busy weekend with a serve in a remote village Hall near Corbridge in Northumberland, a delicious rare breed pig was spit roasted for our client, we picked up the pig en route from a local farmer near Bishop Auckland driving through 2 inches of snow to get the beast. Winter has arrived with proper snow in October ! The white stuff was covering the fields in and around Hexham,. What a strange year weather wise it has been. This was a 50th birthday celebration with a barn dance – tartan themed everyone got into the swing and kilts and tartan britches were the order of the day and everyone had a right good time.

We had another job in Sunderland the same night so I was off through Newcastle and on to a cricket club in Sunderland for a large Halloween party for 250 people, the client had gone to a great deal of trouble lining the access road with lit pumpkins it looked a picture as we arrived. There were loads of activities to keep the kids amused with apple bobbing, face painting, arts and crafts and some great costumes from young and old, a great night was had by all and the hog roast went down a trick or treat too.

Sunday was a relatively relaxed day in comparison with another 50th birthday celebration in Darlington for 40 guests, lovely people who enjoyed the service we gave them and they made us feel very welcome in their home we prepared our speciality hot and spicy ribs and twiced cooked melting pork and the customer really enjoyed it. Getting colder by the day and time to turn up the heating now I think, soon be xmas.
