When hosting a sporting event, it is always going to be a good idea to provide catering for the occasion to keep the players and spectators satisfied. In June, Hog Roast Whickham was hired to cater for a great event at Whickham Golf Club, in Hollinside Park. The event was the 2023 Hadrian Healthcare Pro-Am, which was played in teams and solo. It was a great event with 100 guests in attendance and something for everyone to enjoy. For the catering, our manager Jarrod was hired by Michelle to provide a delicious buffet option for the guests to enjoy. The menu needed to include a meat-free and gluten-free option, as well as a selection of tasty sides to create a balanced and delicious afternoon meal.
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Whickham team arrived at the venue with plenty of time to slow-roast the hog to perfection before the 16:45 serving time. Once the pork was delicious and juicy, it was expertly carved by our chef and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Gluten-free rolls were also available. Additionally, we served grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers as a tasty meat-free alternative. For the side dishes, the guests enjoyed a mixture of sweet potato fries and traditional fries, as well as gourmet coleslaw, and a selection of seasonal salad options. Overall, this created a delicious buffet meal for the guests to enjoy, allowing everyone to grab a plate and choose a meal from what we had to offer!
