It’s not just hog roasts that run in our blood. Living in Eaglescliffe, the home of Tetley’s largest factory, we take our tea pretty seriously here at Hog Roast Eaglescliffe. Classic breakfast, sweet tea, even herbal. You name it, we go daft for a brew. And as the world’s second-largest tea brand, you can always count on Tetley to deliver a proper cuppa.
So, when they invited us to visit their premises recently, we were buzzed – and not just from our morning caffeine fix!
As part of the Tata Consumer Products group for the past 25 years, Tetley has a reputation for producing a whopping 262 million tea bags per week (that’s around 52.4 million tea bags a day!). And the Eglescliffe factory? Well, they alone are responsible for supplying 30% of the nation’s tea!
Given how hard the Tetley team works, the least they deserved was a tasty meal to say thank you, and Hog Roast Eaglescliffe were proud to do the honours.
As part of the brand’s highly-anticipated staff and family fun day, Hog Roast Eaglescliffe was asked to serve our Gourmet BBQ Menu to over 250 guests! Yes, it was quite the turnout!
We had from 11am to 2.30pm to get everyone fed. But if you know our catering managers, Chris and Kayleigh, you’ll know they never shy away from a challenge. Working like a well-oiled machine, our superstar chefs made sure everyone got a taste of what was on the menu. And let’s just say, it was delicious!
From handmade British beef burgers and gourmet sausages to Thai chicken kebabs and fall-off-the-bone ribs, this feast was every carnivore’s dream. But it didn’t end there. Grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers served with tzatziki dip and flatbreads, plus pulled jackfruit rolls were on the menu for our non-meat-eaters, making sure everyone was well taken care of.
And what’s a feast without sides? Hog Roast Eaglescliffe didn’t let the guests down with our creamy coleslaw, pasta salads and homemade fries served with a choice of salt, vinegar and a plethora of sauces.
The outcome couldn’t have been better. The guests had a brilliant time celebrating, the food was off the charts and even the sun made an appearance. What more could you ask for?
