Every family has their own little traditions. Some wear matching holiday jumpers. Others have an annual photo shoot. Or maybe even jet off abroad together.
Alicia’s family?
The men in the family take part in a yearly golf tournament. The catch? The outcome of this friendly putting sesh decides which of them will host the annual family get-together.
This year, it was Alicia’s turn to host, and she wanted to make sure it was a party that would go down in family history. So, she asked for Hog Roast Durham to do our thing.
We’re not much use with a golf club. But BBQ tongs and a grill? That’s where we do our best work.
At this family do, there were 60 hungry guests that needed to be fed, and our Gourmet BBQ Menu was just the ticket. Handmade British beef burger patties served on soft buns with bubbling cheese and fried onions? Check. Extra gourmet sausages with just the right amount of char on the outside? Yep. Chicken kebabs with a special Thai kick? You bet!
This trio of BBQ faves was just what the doctor ordered. Not to mention, they paired perfectly with our Greek salad and coleslaw sides. Hog Roast Durham also whipped up a seemingly bottomless batch of mixed sweet potato and classic fries. Seasoned with salt, vinegar and the guests’ choice of sauces, these beauties were in high demand.
As for the veggie and vegan family members? You know we’d never leave our meat-free friends out! Hog Roast Durham’s famous grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers were the perfect alternative to the meats on offer. Served with flatbreads, cooling tzatziki dip and a zingy sweet chilli sauce, these kebabs pretty much flew off the grill on their own.
Alicia and her fam had an awesome time at this family do and the food went down a storm. Alicia did an amazing job of making sure everyone had a great time. So much so, that after that, whoever is in charge of next year’s party has big shoes to fill.
