This December, Hog Roast Longhirst was hired to provide catering for Kathy’s 60th birthday, with her party taking place at a village hall in Northumberland. Kathy wanted to do something special to mark turning 60, and what better way to do so than with a party surrounded by her friends and family? For the party, our catering manager Jarrod was hired to provide a classic hog roast for 100 guests to enjoy, including a meat-free and gluten-free option. Our classic hog roast menu is ideal for this occasion and is bound to go down a treat!
On the day of the party, the Hog Roast Longhirst team arrived at the village hall with plenty of time to prepare for the 21:00 serving time. We began by slow-roasting the hog and ensuring that it was cooked to perfection before it was expertly carved by our chef. The sliced meat was then served in fresh bread rolls (or a gluten-free option) alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Meat-free guests could enjoy BBQ pulled jackfruit in bread rolls. Alongside the main dishes, we also served homemade chips and seasonal salad dishes, creating a varied and delicious evening buffet for the guests to enjoy. We served our catering buffet style on bamboo cutlery and crockery, which was the ideal level of formality for Kathy’s birthday party. The event was definitely a success, and our catering was another great aspect of the evening.
